Dancing with the Tracy Stars a Huge Success
The Grand Foundation presented the 4th Annual Dancing with the Tracy Stars on May 6th at the Grand Theatre Center for the Arts. It was a night to remember!
Each dancer’s performance was top-notch but only one could walk away with the famous Mirror Ball Trophy! In the spirit of fundraising for this event, each volunteer dancer raised money to help support a charity of their choosing as well as the Grand Foundation.
Jeff Brown was awarded a fine bottle of 2 buck chuck for raising the most money out of all six dancers. Brown’s charity was the Hearts of Harvest, a non-profit supporting families in health crises.
In total, the dancers helped raise $60k!! Thank you Pat Vargas, Jeff Brown, Alayna Carter, Rusty Clever, Param Gill and Alyssa Wooten for making our event a huge success.
This year’s winner was Rusty Clever who danced a swing number for his charity Out of the Darkness, a suicide prevention non-profit. Alyssa Wooten, dancing for the Bulldog Project, an anti-bullying group aimed to get teens to report issues in a safe environment, came in a close second to Clever. Wooten danced to Disco Inferno!
The volunteer dancers were led by professionals of the Utah Ballroom Dance Company. The second act of the show had nine different dances all performed by the dance company. Their enthusiasm and energy were thrilling to watch.
Thank you to everyone behind the scenes, on stage, in the theatre, box office, concessions, and our sponsors and donors. A special thank you to Haskell Images for donating their time and the fantastic pictures included within this post. Dancing with the Tracy Stars 2017 was a success because of all of the hands that helped make it happen!
